Sweet Dreams Are Made Of Lush Products!

A lot of us struggle to get a full night sleep every night - and sometimes, counting sheep just won't do. What can we do to ensure that we feel well rested and refreshed in the morning? Thankfully, Lush have answered the prayers of many people who have restless nights simply with a few bath/body products.

If you're not aware, Lush have a range of products called 'Twilight/Sleepy'. The main ingredient in these products are Lavender. Lavender is renowned for naturally inducing relaxation and sleepiness.

I own a few products from the 'Twilight' range, mainly because I love the scent, but I have to admit it has helped me to get a good nights sleep too. I'm going to list the products I own below, and give a brief description of them!

Twilight Body Spray

Although this is a body spray, I tend to use this more as a pillow spray. Before climbing into bed, I like to give a couple of spritzes of this to my pillow which makes my pillow smell amazing but is really soothing and comforting to help drift off to sleep. Aside from spraying this scent onto your pillow or bedsheets, you can spray some of this onto yourself after a bath which will also have the same effect.

Sleepy Body Lotion

This was one of THE most talked about products from Lush last year. People became obsessed with Sleepy and the effects it had on them. It received high praise for helping people get the sleep they so craved. I haven't actually used this product yet, but I've opened it to have a little smell, and it of course smells just like the rest of the Twilight range. The idea of this body lotion is to moisturise your body before getting into bed and the scent will help you to doze off.

Twilight Bath Bomb

Yes, there's even a bath bomb in the Twilight scent too! Perfect for those cold winter evenings, to just pop into the tub and feel yourself begin to unwind and relax. Again, this is another product from the range which I haven't used yet, but I'm really looking forward to using this very soon!

Twilight Shower Gel

This was the first Twilight product that I've ever owned, and the one that made me fall in love with the scent! This is a shower gel that I use in the evenings to help me relax and unwind, although I do sometimes use it during the day too.

That's my little collection I have accumulated from the Lush Twilight range! Let me know if you've tried or love any of these products?

January Beauty Wishlist

Hello, and welcome to this year's first Beauty Wishlist! I haven't done one of these since November, so I'm so excited to share the beauty bits and pieces which are currently on my Wishlist!

I'm currently having a slight obsession with TooFaced at the moment. I just love the look of their products, for me the packaging really draws me in! The quality of their products look amazing too. So, the first two items on my Wishlist are the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in the shade 'Child Star' and the TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that I love nude lipsticks, and I also have a bit of a thing for mascara's! I can't believe I haven't actually tried any TooFaced products as of yet, but this is the year to change that!

Another new brand which I want to try is Glossier. Glossier recently launched in the UK towards the end of 2017, and people went crazy for it! It seems that the hype is justified and their products are well worth purchasing. One of the products which I have seen to go down well is the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. This is a gentle cleanser which can remove waterproof eye makeup and suits all skin types.

Onto lips, and I don't know about you but I really struggle and suffer with dry lips during the winter months! My absolute favourite lip balm is Carmex, I just love the way it makes my lips feel and also the scent of the original balm. I've recently discovered that Carmex have a vanilla scented lip balm which makes me so happy, because Vanilla is one of my favourite scents ever! I have a feeling that the Carmex Vanilla Lip Balm will be very addictive for me!

Through having dry lips in the winter, I find that I tend to get lots of dead skin on my lips (gross, but true) and the only way to get rid of that is with a really good lip scrub. I love the lip scrubs from Lush, they always have really yummy scents, and as Valentine's Day is fast approaching, they have recently unveiled a Valentine's themed lip scrub. So, the Lush The Kiss Lip Scrub is also on my Wishlist this month.

Lastly, I've been lusting after a lot of Urban Decay products recently. Namely the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. Both products I know I'm completely late to the party at trying! I've nearly used up all of my MAC Fix+ Setting Spray, so I want to give the Urban Decay setting spray a go next as some people say that the Urban Decay setting spray is much better at holding their makeup throughout the day. As for the Heat Palette, the shades look absolutely beautiful in it, however I'm not much of an eyeshadow wearer so that's why I've held off for a while. That being said, if I don't use it much, the palette will last longer!

Birchbox January 2018 Unboxing

The beginning of a new month can only mean one thing - the arrival of this month's Birchbox! January's Birchbox is a collaboration with stationary brand 'Ohh Deer', with the ethos of this month's box being 'Stand Tall' and to embrace who you are! Pretty good advice if you ask me!

The first product I received in my box this month is the Lord & Berry Blusher Crayon in the shade 'Camelia'. This is a full sized product which everyone will have received in their boxes this month in one of two shades - Peach or Camelia. I have to admit, I'm not really a blush wearer but if I ever feel adventurous I may give it a go! It looks fairly easy to use, you just need to pencil on a little bit of the blusher to your cheeks and blend with your fingers.

The second product in my Birchbox is the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade 'Charcoal'. A pencil eyeliner is a staple in my makeup bag so I was very pleased to see this! It's something a bit different too, as the shade isn't black but charcoal instead. This eyeliner is also said to be waterproof and shouldn't smudge so I'll be very interested to see if it does have a good staying power throughout the day.

Next up is the Thermaliv Night Cream. Thermaliv isn't a brand which I've heard of before so I'm intrigued to find out what this night cream is like. It looks like it's picked with lots of good stuff to leave your skin looking amazing by the morning!

The next product is one which I'm massively excited about! For months I've been wanting the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to turn up in one of my Birchboxes, and it's never happened - until now! This is a spray that not only is a dry shampoo, but it texturises your hair too. What I love about this product is that you don't get left with the white powder residue in your hair, unlike most other dry shampoo's.

Last but not least, I received the Afterspa Amazing Makeup Remover. This is such an intriguing product and seems like a bit of a revelation! All you need to do with this cloth is to soak it in some water and then wipe your face with it, and it removes your makeup! I'm amazed that it's as simple as that and is so effective! I think I'm going to write a review on this product and let you all know how I get on with using it!

Aside from the products which are in the box, I have to say that the actual design of this month's box is absolutely beautiful, I love the floral detail with the flamingoes - it's just so cute! I also received some Ohh Deer designed stickers which will be perfect for my stationary collection, and there is a 20% discount code to use on Ohh Deer's website!

2018 Beauty Goals

So, we're at the beginning of a new year and lots of us are starting to set resolutions/goals/aims for ourselves to achieve during this year. Me personally, I have set myself personal and blogging goals which I have set for myself to achieve this year - but I have also set myself some beauty goals which I want to achieve too.

1. Maintain My Night Time Skincare Routine Consistently

This is something I struggle with massively, and I don't know why! I just always seem to procrastinate my skincare routine at night because I either get too stuck into a TV programme or I just feel too tired to do it. I've decided that this year I'm going to encourage myself to stick to my routine and keep it up! I know that doing this will make my skin feel 100% better for it.

2. Use At Least One New Product A Week

I have a tonne of products stashed away that I've never even used before and that tend to sit at the back of my makeup/skincare/beauty draws. I know that if I continuously use the same products as I always do, then the unused products will end up being forgotten about and then never used for a long long time - plus, it's a way of discovering new products too. Win win!

3. Don't Buy Anything Unnecessary/Use Up What I have

This point kind of ties in with the one above - but, I want to adopt a 'one in, one out' approach to my beauty products. So, if I have five mascara's at one time that I've accumulated, then I have no need to buy any more until they are all used up. This approach will mean that my beauty collection isn't as 'cluttered' as it currently!

4. Try Facial Steaming

This is something I heard a few people talking about last year, and according to them it works wonders for their skin. I personally think anything that will help improve the condition of my skin is a winner. So it may be time for me to invest in a facial steamer of some sort?

5. Continue To Really Nurture and Care For My Nails

Before the middle of last year I used to wear acrylic nails, which was not great for the health of my natural nails. Since the end of last year, I've been making a conscious effort to really look after my nails and ensure that they're not only strong and healthy but a good length too. So far, I feel like I've been doing well at this but I want to keep it up.

Let me know if you have any beauty goals for 2018?

Sudocrem Skin Care Cream Review

Looking after your skin is so important, especially during the cold winter months. Recently I've been using the Sudocrem Skin Care Cream*, and I have to say so far it's been amazing!

The Sudocrem Skin Care Cream has the same ingredients as an antiseptic healing cream but it is more gentle and caring to your skin. This makes the cream a perfect healant for spots/acne, skin irritations and even dry patches of skin such as knees/elbows. Believe it or not, Sudocrem isn't just for nappy rash! It has its celebrity fans too - namely Cheryl, and Perrie Edwards from Little Mix.

During the last few weeks, using the Sudocrem Skin Care Cream has been so helpful to me as I've had the odd hormonal breakout on my face, burnt my arm while getting something out of the oven and my forehead during a mishap with some curling tongs - ouch! I love how quick Sudocrem gets to work, whenever I've needed to use it my skin always looks and feels better by the next morning. It's always reduced any redness in my skin, and leaves it looking less irritated.

I have to say having never used Sudocrem before, I've been amazed at how it's healed any kind of skin trouble that I've had since using it and it's just feels so soothing and moisturising. It's worth pointing out that a little bit goes a long way with this, the cream is so thick that you really don't need to use a lot!

I've been using the 30g tube, which is super handy for keeping in your handbag or even in your luggage if you're going away somewhere - it takes up no room at all! It's so convenient and is the perfect size to use on the go. The 30g tube is an absolute bargain at only £1.99 in Boots!

So don't be fooled, Sudocrem isn't just for nappy rash! It works wonders for all sorts of skin troubles and it's definitely worth giving a go!
